<p>"A republic &amp; jedi space station, offering a ray of hope to the galaxy. Starlight Beacon." [Star Wars High Republic Adventures #1]</p><p>One of the great works of the high republic era, Starlight Beacon was both a literal beacon and a symbolic one. Its signal guided ships through hyperspace and it housed a jedi temple, republic deleagtions and medical facilities, among other things. The space station was constructed 232 BBY (that's 232 years before the events of <i>A New Hope</i>).</p><h3>Scale</h3><p>I was aiming for a 1:10,000 scale. Only problem is that I couldn't find anything on its canon dimensions other than “it's roughly […] about the size of a good sized star destroyer” [<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woVwmgynnOg&amp;t=484s">The High Republic Show Episode 5</a>]. You can interpret this to mean different things, therefore I've scaled it to three different versions.</p><figure class="table"><table><thead><tr><th rowspan="2">Version</th><th rowspan="2">Description</th><th colspan="2">Dimensions (Model)</th><th colspan="2">Dimensions (in Universe)</th></tr><tr><th>height</th><th>length/width</th><th>height</th><th>length/width</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Big</td><td>As long as an ISD</td><td>341.7mm</td><td>167.2mm</td><td>3,417m</td><td>1,672m</td></tr><tr><td>Medium</td><td>Between Big and Small</td><td>256.3mm</td><td>125.4mm</td><td>2,563m</td><td>1,254m</td></tr><tr><td>Small</td><td>As tall as an ISD is long</td><td>170.9mm</td><td>83.6mm</td><td>1,709m</td><td>836m</td></tr></tbody></table></figure><p>Small and medium versions are slightly modified to preserve details.</p><h3>Print Instructions</h3><p>Printed in PLA.</p><h4>Recommended layer height</h4><figure class="table"><table><tbody><tr><th>Version</th><td>big</td><td>medium</td><td>small</td></tr><tr><th>Recommended layer height</th><td>0.2mm</td><td>0.15mm</td><td>0.1mm</td></tr></tbody></table></figure><h4>Color and Supports</h4><figure class="table"><table><thead><tr><th>Part</th><th>Color</th><th>Instructions</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>tip</td><td>white</td><td>supports on buildplate only</td></tr><tr><td>middle</td><td>white</td><td>supports everywhere</td></tr><tr><td>connector</td><td>any</td><td>no supports</td></tr><tr><td>underside</td><td>grey</td><td>no supports</td></tr><tr><td>stand</td><td>white to gold to black</td><td>no supports, ironing recommended</td></tr></tbody></table></figure><p>In the pre-sliced files for the stand, I've added two filament changes. It starts with the round base (white), changes filament for the jedi-emblem (gold) and then changes filament again for the arms (black).</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>For Light and Life.</p>
