Star Wars Scout Trooper Helmet
thingiverse
After printing part of the helmet from the design I remixed this from, I weighed the massive support structure and it tipped the scales at a staggering 140g! I decided to fine-tune the design slightly, removing the top of the helmet from the shell below it, which meant it only required a minimal framework underneath to print smoothly. This revised design saved me roughly 9 hours of printing time and 140g of filament (since I'd already printed part two), but if you used this design for both parts two and three, it would save you 18 hours and 280g of filament! To make scaling easier, I've also included an assembled 3D file of the helmet - simply scale it until the measurements fit your head, then use the multiplication factor (if you scale the entire thing to your measurements and find it's 1.05x scale) to scale each piece separately, or in Cura just right-click and press "Separate into Parts" to break it down. Don't make my mistake - double-check that your head will fit through the hole at the bottom, not just inside! Big thanks to Rafa92 for the finished photo - I still haven't painted mine yet!
