Update 09/04/2017 Front Supports are now updated to be printed on an 8x8x8 Printer. Update 09/03/2017 Mount for Center Leg is added (Stem Caster with a minimum of 6" dia wheel & 1 1/4" stem length). Skirt is updated to 8 parts, with one part for the wheel mount and the other 7 identical parts. Bottom ring is modified to be printed on an 8x8x8 printer. Top Ring is updated with dovetail mounts for Dome Drive Motor and can now be printed on an 8x8x8 printer. Brace is added to top ring. AUX Arm & AUX Arm Bay are modified, allowing the AUX Arm to be fastened with 14-20 Pan Head Screws. Power Block & Power Block Bay are updated, enabling them to be fastened with 1/4-20 screws and nuts, and adding holes for cables. UPDATE 05/19/2017 Outer Legg Pivots are modified to match versions found on Astromech(dot)net. UPDATE 08/06/2016 Short Supports #1 & #2 are updated due to changes in attached skins. Please note that this is a work in progress, and some modifications may be necessary. Here's the Star Wars Rebels Chopper design. Plans include RC control with working Dome, Arms, and sound. This design was adapted from Astromech(dot)net creators. Skins, Dome, Legs, Feet, and more will be added later. Design Process Electronics and Mechanical Since this is my first Astromech, I plan to print mounting brackets for components and glue them onto the frame, which seems like the most flexible design approach at present. Components are designed in separate parts. Major parts are located using 1/4" dowels and then glued together. Most Skins are designed to be bolted onto the frame with 1/4-20 Pan Head Screws and nuts, with nuts glued into frames.
