Star Wars - Luke's T-16 skyhopper

"In A New Hope, Luke can be seen enthusiastically playing with a meticulously crafted model of a T-16, which was actually a stunning prop miniature skillfully built by visionary concept artist Colin Cantwell. Unfortunately, the actual prop had to be left unfinished, and an incomplete hull serves as a striking backdrop in the form of a meticulous matte painting. Not one to give up easily, Luke destroys his beloved T-16 within the story's universe, forcing him to rely on his trusty landspeeder to search for R2-D2. As a passionate fan of the vast Star Wars universe, I felt an overwhelming need to showcase my devotion by creating not just one, but several models that would be faithful to the original design. I was determined to incorporate every detail possible into my creation, and whenever I watched the iconic scene where Luke is seen with his T-16 in hand, I couldn't help but yearn for the original prop. The T-16 holds a special place in my heart as one of my favorite ships. To bring my vision to life, I extensively studied numerous photo references of Jasion Eaton's impressive replica and Colin Cantwell's groundbreaking original prop. My goal was to create a model that would not only be an accurate representation but also a testament to the attention to detail and craftsmanship that went into its creation."
