Star Wars Kom'rk/Gauntlet Fighter

The Kom'rk Fighter ("Kom'rk" means “Gauntlet” in Mando'a) is a mandalorian ship. Although calling ship thats over 50m long a “fighter” is a bit of a stretch. It seems to be mostly used as a transport/dropship, but you can also see a fleet of Kom'rke defeat a seperatist fleet in the comic “Darth Maul - Son of Dathomir”.

Versions

There are three versions of this craft which appeared in different shows. This model is based on the second version.

The first appeared in the early seasons of Clone Wars. It is 68m long and the inner edge of the wing is straight.

The second one appeared in the later seasons of Clone Wars and in Rebels. It is 52.3m long and the cannons sit inbetween the mandibles.

The third version appeared for one scene in the Mandalorian. I don't know its exact size. The joints between the wings and body are larger. Also it looks like the wings can not rotate around the body like with the other versions.

Model

This is a model at 1:270 scale. It's 198.9mm long and has a wingspan of 176.6mm. It comes in three pieces - front, back and wings.

There are two versions for the front. The version with peg is compatible with a big pin and holder from here.

There are two versions for the wings. On “kom_rk_wings”, the wings can move up and down, but snap at 90° intervals. The wings use the same mechanism as on my Kom'rk'ika model. Printing and removing the supports can be tricky. On “kom_rk_wings_simple” the wings are fixed.

Printing

All parts need supports. I have printed everything at 0.15mm layer height.

If you are using a Prusa Mini, you will have to cut the wings as they are a bit to tall.

Update: 1:2000 Version

I have added a version at 1:2000 scale, “kom_rk_1_2k”. It is 27.4mm long and has a wingspan of 25mm. The wings and mandibles are thicker to accomodate the smaller scale.

To give you a sense of just how tiny it is, I have added a picture which shows it alongside a 2€ coin and a CR90 corvette (also at 1:2000 scale).

It comes as a single piece and has moving print-in-place wings, which can rotate around the body. The wings can not move up and down though.

Printed at 0.07mm layer height with supports on buildplate.
