Star Wars Jedi Vector

Vectors

“The Vectors were as minimally designed as a starship could be. Little shielding, almost no weaponry, very little computer assistance. The Jedi were the shielding, the weaponry, the minds that calculated what the vessel could achieve and where it could go.” [From Light of the Jedi, Chapter 5]

The Vector is the Jedi Starfighter of the High Republic era. It shares many of its characteristics with later designs (i.e. the Delta-7 Aethersprite from Episode II and Eta-2 Actis from Episode III). There are two interesting differences:

It has space for a copilot, so that a master can take their padawan along (or a certain padawan his dog).

You need a lightsaber to unlock its weapons, with the controls lighting up in that lightsabers color.

This Model

I was aiming for a 1:270 scale, but couldn't find any canon dimensions (again…). So I had to go with what felt about right.

The last image shows a vector alongside a Longbeam and Clone Z95 Headhunter for scale.

The wings can fold up and are print-in-place. The model is compatible with a small peg, pin and holder.

Vectors appeared in many different comics. And being comics, made by different artist, who presumably had only a few pieces of concept art to go on, they all look a bit different. My model is (mostly) based on three pictures:

For the general shape and proportions: Topmost panel of Page 18 of The High Republic (2021-) #1

For the topside: concept art from an article on starwars.com

For the underside: first pages of The Edge of Balance, Part 1

Print Instructions

Printed at 0.07mm layer height. Needs supports on buildplate.

Be carefull when removing the supports underneath the cannons. They are quite fragile.

For Life and Light.
