Star Wars Jedi Interceptor
thingiverse
I always enjoyed their Star Wars fighter from Episode 3, so I thought it was time to create a solidworks model of it myself. The design includes an Interceptor with wings closed and open (each option comes with or without R2D2). Since many 3D printers have small build tables, I decided not to make it too large. However, a scaled-up version will be available as well. October 20, 2014: A Hyperdrive Dock has been added for the Interceptor, which allows it to slide into place and sit securely in the dock. As I haven't tried it out yet, please let me know what you experience with this new feature. Additional files are being developed and will be uploaded soon, including color schemes and a stand that accommodates both wing configurations (closed and open). Stay updated and wait for my next set of uploads! UPDATE: I realized my mistake when using inches instead of the metric system while working in SolidWorks. This resulted in tiny files on Thingiverse since they were created with imperial measurements and saved as such in the STL file. If you prefer larger files, please let me know and I will reconfigure the settings for a revised STL export. The new file can be easily distinguished from its smaller counterpart. Hope you have fun printing and may your creations move smoothly through space!
