Hey everyone, I want to show you a project I've been working on lately. If you're interested in getting more information, helping out, or staying updated, please join my Discord Server. This is part of the collection of Lightsabers from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This specific one belongs to Eno Cordova and includes all its variations. You can print it in three phases from the game: Start, Double, and Repaired. I want to emphasize that I didn't create these models; I extracted them from the game and converted them into OBJs. The real credit for their creation goes to the art team at Respawn Entertainment. These models were taken directly from the game with no modifications, so there may be issues printing that I'll fix in due course. Below is a Q&A: 1. What game are they from? a. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – please support the developers and the official release. 2. What's with the images? a. You've got a color render as it would look in-game, an actual geometry render, and just the Bump/Normal map to show you the surface detail. 3. What's a bump/normal map? a. Simply put, it's a special kind of texture used in games to fake surface detail. It can't be printed because it's not part of the model. 4. Why have you included it if it can't be printed? a. Because I know it can be "rebaked" back into the model – I just don't know how to do it myself. 5. How big should it be? a. I would recommend that the grip is between 30mm and 40mm wide, then scale everything to that. This depends on your hands. 6. Have you printed them yourself? a. Yes, please see the pics. 7. Does it need supports? a. I would recommend yes; I use tree supports myself. 8. There's something wrong with the model. a. Let me know and I'll fix it. 9. Will there be a proper version meant for 3D Printing? a. Yes – I'm working on that myself. If you end up printing this, please share it and let me know; I'd love to see what people come up with.
