Star Wars inspired Maz Kanata Glasses
thingiverse
In the latest installment of the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens features an extraterrestrial character donning distinctive glasses with a unique support framework on either side of its head, allowing each lens to swing open or shut over its eyes without a nose bridge (see image attached).\nTo replicate this look, simply print out these components and utilize a raft for printing, then carefully trim away the excess support structures.\nNext, attach each framework to either side of your least favorite pair of headphones, taking note of the hinges that enable the glasses' lenses to pivot open or closed.\nThe oversized lenses themselves are 4cm in diameter and crafted from clear plastic baubles readily available online. These components can be easily disassembled into two halves, which can then be filled with a substance of your choice. After trimming down each half to size, they can be utilized as the glasses' "lenses".\nI designed these glasses using Google Sketchup, and have attached both the skp and stl files for reference.
