STAR WARS AT-AT 1981 Kenner Gun Replacement
thingiverse
Weekend Project Update: AT-AT Restoration I'm excited to share my recent restoration project - restoring my vintage AT-AT. However, things took a bit of an unexpected turn when one of the guns went missing, which, unfortunately, seems to be a pretty common issue for me. Original parts can cost around 30 euros each on Ebay, but I'm not willing to shell out that much for a piece of plastic. Luckily, I still had another gun left intact, allowing me to take precise measurements. With this in mind, I created the closest replica you'll find without shelling out the big bucks for an authentic part. During printing, I attempted using clear PLA, mimicking the original clear plastic design, but the results fell short - the material loses its transparency during the printing process. As a result, I settled on grey instead, which actually turns out quite nice. You may be thinking, "Where's the light effect?" Yeah, that was an omission, but at least we have the gun. I've also included both sliced and solid versions of the part, allowing you to choose between supported or non-supported prints. If you're interested in reproducing the cockpit cover (which I unfortunately lost), feel free to reach out!
