I created a modified version of spugnoids exceptional dashboards for Star Wars Armada (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3271901). I needed to temporarily connect the 2 and 4 upgrade boards to the main dashboard. The small height of the dashboards (6.35mm) made me choose small neodymium magnets instead of Openlock. These magnets are 3mm in diameter and 1mm thick (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007JTKMA8/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I also used keys to align the boards. The magnets give a strong grip, keeping the dashboards together while allowing them to be slid around on the table without coming apart. I glued the magnets into the slots with superglue, ensuring they were all aligned the same way. Changes made to the original: - I thickened the left and right edges of the upgrade boards to fit in the magnet. - Added male/female keys to the sides. - Made the cutaway on the main dashboard larger and the same shape as the upgrade card cutaways for aesthetic reasons and to save filament. - Cut holes in the walls for 3mm diameter, 1mm thick neodymium magnets.
