I designed a Star Trek Phaser rifle myself. It is based on designs I saw in Star Trek Online. Phasers are common directed-energy weapons that first appeared in the original Star Trek series, later appearing or being referenced in almost all subsequent films and TV spin-offs. They come in a wide range of sizes, from small handheld versions to large starship-mounted ones. Personal phasers can be made compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand and still be deadly.
