Star Trek ToS NCC1701 Enterprise Replacement Display Stand Coupling Diamond Select Toys DST Art Asylum AA 2019 Release

Hello again internets! You may remember me from such Thingiverse items as: Art Asylum All Good Things Enterprise replacement stands, Tile Pro cases, Fridge repair parts, and author of the non-existent book: How not to write introductions to items you list on Thingiverse! I have a Diamond Select Toys Original Enterprise NCC1701 (from the Original TV Series), the 2019 re-release. It seems DST/AA, rather disappointingly, still haven't bothered to do a darn thing about their poor stand quality, and this was the case with my 2019 ToS NCC1701 as well. This time, it wasn't the stand that broke, but the plastic that was used to couple the stand to the ship with the little notched plastic. The plastic had dried out and crumbled - it seems like it was made with a really rather inappropriate choice of plastic - it was almost acrylic like in its shattering. I didn't drop it, I didn't do anything other than leave it untouched on my shelf for years, and it just kinda kicked it one day. Nice. Wish they'd up their quality. Anyways, this ship uses a different style coupling than the All Good Things enterprise, so I remixed my previous design for that stand, and made this one. It fits nicely. I used PolyMaker PolyTerra PLA Black at 210 degrees on a 0.4mm hardened steel coated nozzle, 0.4mm line width, 100% solid infill, 20% overlap, and print thin wall/fill gaps in walls, and support-touching-build-plate enabled to print this. With those settings, for me, dimensionally the fit is "perfect". I try very hard not design my objects with my own printers variances factored in, and my printer is otherwise extremely tightly calibrated, but when you get into asking a printer to print "odd-relative-to-the-nozzle-size" line widths, sometimes overlap causes the parts to swell slightly, as does variances in materials. That's why I've provided those specific slicer settings, here, so that you understand what worked for me, in my instance. YMMV. Standard disclaimers apply. Use this entirely at your own risk. If the ship falls off the shelf and kills someone, that's on you. If the ship gains artificial intelligence, takes off from your desk, and warps around the sun bending space and time and altering our existence forever, that's also similarly on you. Be accountable for you, and don't expect others to deal with your problems! Have a great day!
