So I set out to model a larger design that could be printed in single pieces on my printer. I sliced several of the bigger parts into smaller ones and welded them together, just in case I encountered any issues during printing. This is my first project with my 3D printer, and I wanted to push its limits by trying something more complicated than I was comfortable with. I also wanted a project to use the raspberry pi so I could learn about it too. What an adventure that's been! Currently, this project serves as a decorative lamp that can connect to a render farm over the internet. It doesn't even need to be in the same building as the computers providing its speed boost. The faster the machines are rendering, the faster it goes. All the source code and bill of materials for the metal and electronics components are available and open-source.
