Star Trek Discovery Phaser

Here are the modified files I used to print out the awesome Star Trek Discovery phaser that was beautifully designed by ajethridge.

This has been sized to a nice fit--not too big but not too small. It is 22 cm from back to front.

Use full supports for parts numbered:
10, 13, 14, 15, 18, 21, 22, 31, 39, 41

You may have to enable your supports to be extra sensitive to ensure completely supporting the whole model for parts 22 and 31, because they have small footprints and need supports to hold them from falling down. Their print orientation pays off though, and they come out looking great.

Part 21 can be printed upright or on its side depending on your preference.

Part 25 is intended to be glued onto the underside of the flip screen so it can secure to the hinge pin. The hinge pin is very fragile so use care inserting it and if needed, scale the size down except the length to get a better fit through the holes if needed.

Part 34 is a cover that you can insert over the wheels on the type I so they don't push down and come loose. Insert them halfway using tweezers then use a fine tip to put glue on their sides then push them the rest of the way to secure them in place. Only need one on each side to be effective.

Part 19 is optional since you can just glue the toggles in place without the pin.

Use 8x magnets size 6x2mm for the magazine and 8x magnets 5x5mm for the type 1 and body - I got them from Amazon. Let me know if you want different size magnet holes.

Refer to the diagram for the general color scheme.
The parts that I made in the graphite/grayish sparkling black color are:
2, 4, 6, 8, 13, 16, 31, 41

Otherwise the rest of the dark parts are just a regular black.

Use color swap method (pause and change filament) to get different colors for the toggle switches, power level, and stand tag.

I used a spring I had laying around for the trigger but I wonder if a spring from a click pen would work for everyone else.

There is a stand included that is sized to fit these mods, so if you have a previous version printed out you may need to determine the correct size before printing it.

Also includes a Mirror Universe Terran Empire attachment that covers the flip screen on the type 1. I printed it in the upright orientation its posted as using supports, but you might find a better angle to print it at. Its a good fit but it does fall off unless you have a temporary way to adhere it, maybe a strong double-sided tape would work.

There is an alternate trigger with a larger hole for bigger springs. Let me know if it needs to be wider.

Let me know if you have any questions about assembly.

All filaments used were: Prusament galaxy black, Eryone carbon black, CC3D silk gold, Ziro silk silver, Reprapper silk white, 3D Solutech aqua blue

Here is a guide that explains how color swapping works, at least with Prusaslicer: https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/color-change_1687
