Star Trek Ascendancy civilization trays with lids
thingiverse
This is a remix of playfutbol2’s Star Trek Ascendancy civilization trays. You can find his original remix here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3559650. I really liked the trays but wanted a lid as well. After much debate I decided to try my hand at creating a lid. That quickly escalated into a lot of redesign. I eventually settled on integrating the civilization console into the top of the lid. This has a nice aesthetic in my opinion and serves as a space saver on the table as well. The consoles sit a half mm below the top of the lid so that hopefully is enough to keep them from being damaged when stacked (space was at a premium so that’s as much as I could do). There is a clip file included to hold the consoles in place. Four of these should make a slightly snug fit. However, I found the depending on the slicing and printing they may come out too lose or too tight. So, you may have to experiment with the clip size, or just glue them in place. I also had to expand the walls of each tray to accommodate the lids. This means each tray is wider, deeper, and taller than the originals. With the release of the Dominion and Breen they have much larger starbase miniatures (Gf9 why?). If you use the starbase miniatures then use the expanded trays. Note that even if you don’t use the starbase miniatures, the Dominion have a separate tray that’s slightly modified to accommodate the wormhole system. Also included is a shorter system tray for Gamma quadrant system discs or any discarded discs, and a resource tray fill to split the Culture token bin in two to add Warp tokens. Overall I am very pleased with how these turned out. Let me know your thoughts and comments below. Hope you enjoy!
