Star of David Tree Topper
thingiverse
If you're looking to give Christmas a little Jewish flair, simply print out this stunning tree topper to put the finishing touch on your tree! You can easily scale down this design for a fun and eye-catching ornament. I managed to print it using translucent PLA with no infill, along with three shells and supports in place - the entire process took around four hours. There's a precise hole in one point that's perfect for attaching the cone adapter (just remember to sand it lightly so it fits snugly) and wrapping a wire coil around it. If you want to get creative, you can design your own adapter to suit your taste - the hole is about 7mm in diameter. One thing that took me by surprise was getting this beautiful tree topper to stay on the Christmas tree; being new to holiday decorations, I wasn't exactly sure what to do! If any of you out there have tips or ideas for securing a sturdy topper, please share them with us - we're all ears! **Print Settings** * Printer Brand: MakerBot * Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator 2X * Use Rafts: Yes * Enable Supports: Yes * Set Resolution: 250 microns * Infill Setting (optional): Leave out infill when using translucent filament - this design looks best without any fill, and remember you can print with fewer shells if needed. You might want to experiment printing it without supports for added style; however, please be cautious as there are some dramatic overhangs involved. It's entirely up to you how brave you're feeling - just take care not to make a mess.
