Star Mask
thingiverse
I designed this mask for the upcoming U.S. holidays, and it's been a labor of love. The mask itself is massive, with a thick build that allows for easy resizing into a more compact form. I've carefully crafted the design to accommodate a snug fit for any filter material with a thickness of 1mm or less, which means PETG is the perfect choice for printing the cover. Fifty stars adorn the front of the mask, ensuring excellent airflow and cooling. To achieve this multicolored flag effect, I cleverly switched filaments during printing, alternating between blue at 4.8mm and red or white at 4.4mm layers. The seal around the mask works beautifully for me, preventing fog from forming on my glasses. I utilized standard window treatment techniques and a high-quality furnace filter cut to create an easily replaceable filter material. Thanks to any system that allows filament changes, printing this mask without supports is a breeze. As this is my first post to Thingiverse, I'm expecting edits to the design over time as I continue to refine it.
