Star Citizen referral code: STAR-SCTR-7PXS The Marines were initially kept under the Army's command structure, but they weren't officially separated and formed as their own division until the end of the First Tevarin War. The UPE felt that a consolidated special operations force was needed, one that commanded the best of both the Army and Navy. Their focus became planetary invasion, and Marine units are specialized to be weapons of warfare, nothing more. They don't handle diplomatic escorts or pull guard duty; they deal with the dust. Marine-Candidates are selected from the general pool of Army and Navy recruits. The selection criterion is unknown and inconsistent at best, leading some to speculate that it's intentional, cementing the fact that you don't apply to be a Marine. I found this dude while cleaning up the Prospector holoviewer model, so I made a guy to stand by my models. At this small scale, don't expect much detail. Feel free to scale him larger if you want to display him by himself.
