Stanley Shallow Organizer Shallower Cup Small Bin for Small Parts
thingiverse
My contribution to numerous small bin designs for the Stanley 014725R shallow parts organizer is here. This design elevates contents halfway up, angling inside walls for easier visibility and retrieval of tiny components like M3 nuts seen in the example photo. I achieved this by replicating the number of nuts in my modified bin on the right to match the original one on the left, showcasing how much simpler it is to extract them from a shallower cup. With the standard bin, I frequently resorted to removing it and tipping out its contents just to get one nut. To accurately model the design of the tapered original bin, including its small brim, I approximated the feet slightly while maintaining overall accuracy. As depicted in the second picture, my bin fits securely despite lacking a flat bottom and holds its contents well when the organizer is tipped over. Edit: A new file called "NotQuiteSoShallowCup.stl" has been added to the mix where the cup starts tapering 15mm below the top instead of 10. After discovering more M3 hex nuts, I realized they didn't all fit comfortably in the original design :-)
