Stanley Battery adapter (FMC688L FMC687L)
thingiverse
Battery adapter for Stanley Fatmax 18V batteries (battery models FMC688L, FMC687L) was originally designed to fit seamlessly into Adam Savage's soldering station and serve as a holder for spare batteries. The model for this battery adapter was created in Fusion 360, where it was carefully crafted to accommodate the unique overhangs of the design. Due to these overhangs, it is highly recommended to print the two parts separately before gluing them together with cyanoacrylate/crazy glue. For secure connections, male faston tabs (6.3mm width) were used. First, wires were soldered to the tabs, then they were carefully heated and pushed through slits in the holder. To ensure maximum support within the plastic, the connectors were left uncrimped. To further stabilize their position, a small amount of two-part epoxy was applied to the base of the tabs using a toothpick. This extra precaution may not be necessary, as the connectors held firmly in place even without it, thanks to the molten plastic securing them effectively.
