Stanford Dragon with flat base

thingiverse

This is a remix of MyDogJustice's Stanford Dragon model with the bottom cleaned up. I used MeshMixer to flatten the belly and paws, healing all geometry anomalies. You'll need to print this model with supports and a raft. Note that the original from Stanford doesn't contain a license, but does encourage you to use the printed model in good taste. Thanks! Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.16 Infill: 35% Notes: My settings for red HatchBox ABS are constant across all colors. The feet are always printed properly. If the dragon's feet appear warped or messy, stop your print and adjust the cooling and temperature settings for the first 20 layers. Support Material If you're using Simplify3D, auto-generated supports are adequate. For smaller prints, remove some supports in the back of the throat as they can be difficult to remove. Important areas for manual support placement include: Under the chin Inside the mouth The crest and spikes on the head Underneath all raised feet Cooling: Cool the first 30 layers at 70%, then back off to 0% cooling (or higher value as needed): Layer Fan Speed 1 70 2 30 3 50 4 45 5 30 6 55 7 0 Temperature: Extrusion was 215 C. If using a heated build platform, start with low temperature and raise to high temperature: Layer Temp (C) 1 65 2 30 3 65 4 45 5 75
