Standing figure of Babaef
myminifactory
Limestone statue standing upright, depicting Babaef in full figure. The head is noticeably absent. A slight wear on the left arm hints at its age. A reddish hue lingers, a testament to its rich history. The statue breaks off abruptly at the ankles, two distinct pieces lying severed. In elegant script, the base bears the noble's name and impressive titles. Originating from Giza, this majestic relic was unearthed in tomb G 5230 by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition back in 1914. Thirteen years later, the Egyptian government graciously gifted it to the MFA. Captivating images of this ancient marvel were captured through a collaboration between Zhejiang University and photography experts.
