After designing my first 30mm die, I decided to create seven standard-sized dice. 5mm and 8mm: These small dice are perfect for rolling in tight spaces. 12mm and 16mm: These sizes are the most common found in board games worldwide. 19mm: Casinos use this size of dice around the globe. 25mm and 50mm: While not as practical as smaller siblings, these large dice can be used as decorations or for fun during board game play. Their size makes them incredibly easy to read. Here's where I found standard dice sizes information. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 15-20% Notes: Print at .1 layer height if desired, came out fine for me at .2. Infill is also up to you, 15-20% will work for most applications. A brim can be used depending on print size, five lines should suffice. Post-Printing This image shows my 30mm die. The process for creating the standard dice was identical. How I Designed This I created these dice using 123D Design. The process starts with a simple cube, adding spheres to each face represents numbers. Using the subtract tool removes spheres while keeping indentation intact. All edges receive a fillet to enhance aesthetics and rolling performance.
