I designed a cable puller that effortlessly pulls a cable through 1/8" Air brake tubing or 1/8" nylon tubing. To achieve this, I utilized .050" weed whacker line from the hardware store in conjunction with this servo winch to effectively pull fingers on a mechanical hand in a remote location. The pulley is specifically designed for 180-degree rotation standard servos to use cable, while the spool can be paired with continuous rotation servos (such as Jameco's 2128201) and fish line to propel objects or make something move. The spool is capable of holding a substantial length of fishing line. A 6-32 tap is required to complete the set screw holes, along with short 6-32 set screws to secure the line or cable in the pulley. The pulley and spool are precision-crafted to fit snugly on T25 servos, potentially accommodating others if drilled. To use guide bearings, RC Truck wheel bearings (5mx11mx4m rubber sealed) can be utilized, held securely in place by 3D printed push pins. I have designed a wide range of chassis configurations for mounting the winch to various surfaces. If you can think of any additional components that may be required, please let me know. The spool will not fit within the protected chassis; therefore, it is essential to print the chassis with full support to hold up the upper bearing support. When designing the spool, I envisioned a CR servo winch enclosed in a box, powered by a 9V battery and an LM7805 regulator, controlled by an Arduino Uno to create spiders that ascend and descend on fish line for Halloween props. This little winch is quite impressive - it's simple, easy to print, and should have numerous practical applications. Enjoy!
