Standard Clothes Dryer Vent
thingiverse
I reside in a mountain neighborhood where winters are notorious for their harsh conditions, resulting in my clothes dryer vent requiring replacement almost annually due to ice damage. The issue lies with commercial vents like those found at Home Depot, which protrude from the wall, creating two main problems: they get obstructed by falling ice and serve as a platform for ice accumulation. The custom vent I designed avoids these issues by sitting snugly against the wall. As I have never lived in a house that featured mounting bolts for the clothes dryer vent, instead relying on the vent sliding into the duct, I didn't include bolt holes in my design. However, if you require them, I am more than happy to add them upon request. Print Settings: This project is straightforward: it prints as one continuous piece (including the hinge) and doesn't necessitate any assembly. Simply position it correctly within your slicer software, generate the gcode, and print it out. Assembly Tips: Make sure to glue the backstop about a few millimeters behind the flap. This prevents the flap from opening incorrectly.
