Standalone Spool Holder - Compatible with LACK Enclosure
thingiverse
Some thin spools won't fit on the spool roller I printed as part of the [Original Prusa i3 MK3 ENCLOSURE -Ikea Lack table - Prusa Research](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2864118) (the red parts in the pictures), and cardboard spools aren't stable on rollers, so I designed this spool holder to solve both problems. It slides onto the rail of the other spool roller on one side, and the other side has a separate base for stability. The base connects to the side piece with an M3 bolt and a square nut. A 3/8ths-inch (9.5mm) dowel rod holds the sides together and keeps the spool in place. Print the base with support. If you can selectively add or block supports, it only needs them at the screw hole. Parts list: -Side (x2) -Base (x1) -3/8" (9.5mm) dowel rod (x1, length as needed) -M3 x 20mm bolt (x1, a longer length is fine too) -M3 square nut Note that the bolt and nut are probably optional - the spool holder should be pretty stable even without them. Happy printing!
