3D printed lights for standup paddling at night =================================== I build this light for my Airboard STRIDER Ultralight 11'2". But these lights should be possible to mount on every SUP that has holdings (D-ring pads) on the sides. Both lights have a hole in the middle where you can pass the holding through and attach it with a belt. As a power source, I can use any device that is capable of supplying energy via USB ports. The simplest way right now is using my electric pump. A Power bank could also work. The light has on larboard two switches. The first switch will turn on and off and also supports three different intensity levels. The second button is used to set the mode and by pressing this the light toggles between these modes: full, front, blink, sinus, boat (red/green), rainbow. Also an important feature is to lock and unlock the settings. This can be done by pressing both buttons for min. 3 seconds. The light will give feedback by flashing red or green. The code can be found on my github account: https://github.com/codeix/suplight It's a program that's run on Arduino m328p board and for the buttons, I used two capacity touch ttp223. The advantage of these buttons is that it is not possible that water runs into it. The light source is build with 2x13 ws2812b LEDs. The LEDs are driven by the arduino board and use a PFC8574P as a level shifter. Finally a very simple circuit. To ensure that the lights remain tight. I applied several layers of Epoxy. The layers, however, have not distributed cleanly on the surface. Probably there are better products that guarantee a waterproof and clean surface. I could already try the lights once and work really well. Sometimes, the lights have turned off because they consume too little power and the pump or power bank no longer recognizes this and turns the power off. The lights shine very brightly at night. But it would never be enough to see anything in the distance. They are meant that ships or other vehicles can see you at night!
