There are already many smartphone/tablet stands available that I really like, but I wanted to create my own unique stand with essential features for a good viewing experience. Here's my top pick. I designed this stand to meet specific requirements: stability, adjustable view angle, foldability, and compatibility with various iDevices in my household. The design allows me to tap the surface confidently, choose from a wide range of angles, including an extreme 80° incline, and collapse it easily into a drawer-friendly shape. This stand is versatile enough to support every device I own: my wife's iPhone 5, my iPhone 6s, and our first-generation iPad Air. It also extends significantly beyond the device, providing ample space for comfortable viewing. I laser-cut this design on a Glowforge. To replicate it, you may need to adjust line width and color according to your specific laser cutter and software settings. Additionally, you'll require 3/8" dowel stock that needs to be cut to size.
