I've tested this on two 7-inch tablets and a smartphone, all approximately 9-10mm thick. It should also accommodate larger tablets if you create a slightly deeper recess. I intentionally designed it to hold the tablet at an angle for use as an alarm clock. Therefore, it may not be suitable if you want to watch movies or anything that requires the tablet to recline more.
