Stand Fan Wheels Adapter
myminifactory
I made this simple adapter to give some mobility to my heavy stand fan. Now I can rotate its base and move it around easily. In hot Singapore weather we have large living rooms but no kitchen or hallway doors, so you can't have aircon in most of the household, this helps me get some ventilation where I need it without scratching the floors or having to lift and carry the heavy fan. You need supports for the self tapping screw slide-in hole. Bill of materials: 4x Adapter (print from this design) 4x M6 screw in wheels, rated 3-5KG. (Get from Amazon or a place like Daiso if you are in Asia. 1-2 dollars each usually.) 4x Self tapping screws, 10mm head 20mm length, 4mm diameter. (Reuse from fan base, you don't need to buy) Tools needed: M6 Tap. Makes it easier to cut the threads, however I imagine with enough strength you can possibly use screws of the wheels to force cut threads. Slim Philips screw driver. Round shape shaft, thick hex ones won't do. See my Instagram post for the final product video. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJAzRJFLesh/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Including FreeCAD design. Printing tips: 0.28mm was quick and fine for me. These won't be user facing but hidden under fan base. Adjust XY and Z distance for supports because slide in slot is narrow to pull out supports. I printed with eSUN PLA+ which is stronger than regular PLA.
