Stand alone spool holder (Spooly)
prusaprinters

I made this to hold 1kg spools.

You'll need:

1x M3 screw

1x M3 heat set insert or hex nut

optional: 10mm smooth aluminium (or similar) pipe or rod

It prints in two parts, so the layers are in the optimal direction for strength. There are 4 versions here.

Heat set = requires one M3 heat set insert

Hex nut = requires a M3 hex nut (square will probably work too)

10mm Rod = you can insert a 10mm diameter rod of any material here.

If the friction on the normal version is too high, you can add smooth tape (PTFE works great) to the top.

The 10mm Rod version is for you to insert a (preferably smooth) aluminium pipe or rod. Other smooth material is okay too i guess.
