Stalk Extension
thingiverse
I had installed an OMP 320 Carbon S steering wheel and NRG quick release adapter in my '08 Lotus Exige S240, which pushed the wheel rim about 1" rearward relative to the stock setup. I prefer this new position, but the extra inch distance from the wheel to the turn signal and wiper stalks makes them hard to reach while keeping your hand engaged with the steering wheel. I do need to reach them occasionally on the track, so I designed and 3D printed these "stalk extensions". The inner U-shape matches 3 sides of the stalk, and 2 zip ties cinch it across the back. The zip ties pass through tunnels so they're not visible unless you're looking straight down at them (through the windshield). The rearward edge of the extension is about 1 3/8" rearward of the stalk, so they're actually 3/8" closer to the wheel than the stock setup. I can now easily reach the stalk while keeping my thumb fully hooked on the wheel. This design works for both the turn signal and wiper stalks (just flipped over).
