Stake Pocket for Trailer

Stake Pocket for Trailer

This thing is a stake pocket I designed for use with a light duty trailer which I pull behind a garden tractor. The stake pocket bolts to the edge of the flat trailer in order to drop in wooden sides. Two stake pockets mount on each side of the trailer, each accepting a standard 2x4. Being a 3D printed plastic bracket, they are not meant for anything heavy duty, but when printed with a 1.0mm nozzle with solid walls at 0.52mm layers out of PETG, they are plenty sturdy enough to use. The overall height of the sides on my trailer is 14", plus 2" of the 2x4 styles inserted into the pocket (16" total length on style). Anything taller could create too much leverage and risk breaking the brackets. I recommend using flat washers on the outside of the plastic bracket as well to help distribute the force. (Will add photos of the object, how it is mounted, etc, when time allows). Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 100% (Solid walls, bottom can be less) Filament: Overture PETG Black Notes: PLA not recommended (may be too brittle and crack). Use a large diameter nozzle for stronger prints (I used 1.0mm, recommend at least 0.6). Category: Outdoor & Garden
