I'm creating a modular staircase system that will give my party of players a boss fight with a unique twist. The idea came about because I wanted to challenge my players by making the boss inaccessible to melee attacks during the initial rounds. This will create an exciting scenario where they'll need to navigate through the stairs and galleries to reach their opponent. I'm currently working on the modulable parts of this staircase, which will allow me to easily raise the ground level and create a thrilling "stair" fight. The upper floor and arch will be completed soon, resulting in a fantastic fight zone where the boss can cast spells before being reached by the players. To make things even more challenging, the boss will have minions that will slow down the players' progress. *** 15/01/20 *** Update: I'm currently working on the second ramp and printing it out. Once this step is complete, I'll move on to preparing the pillars and elevated hallway with themed balustrades. I also plan to add a hiding pillar for an extra level of strategy. *** 20/01/2020 *** Update: The stairs are almost finished, and I've added some features like skulls and other details. The boss's elevated floor is almost complete, giving him ample time to cast spells on the players before they can reach him in melee combat. Meanwhile, pesky kobolds and orcs will keep the players busy. It appears that the project is nearing completion. *** 29/01/2020 *** Update: I'm working hard to finish the scenario as it's scheduled for use next month. Once done, I'll print it out and attempt to paint it. If anyone is interested, I'll also share the other parts of this scenery. The lockable sections are taken from TheRooster's OpenLock system, making it a remix in its own right. Note: In some screenshots I've uploaded, you might see minis that are actually remixed kobolds and orcs. Unfortunately, due to copyright restrictions, I couldn't upload the orcs' CC files, so I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
