Staircase for convincing filament extrusion on wanhao duplicator i3

I had problems with the spring that propels the extruder bearing into the extruder gear on my direct-driven Wanhao duplicator i3. At high speeds, underextrusion occurred because the extruder gear moved too rapidly for the weak tension of the spring. This greatly helped me. Sliced with Simplify3D using a 0.4mm nozzle and setting the extrusion width to 0.3mm, layer height set at 0.15mm. Printed two pieces and used them like in the photo once the filament was loaded (easy to remove for filament swapping). Slide one over the other, hearing a click, do not overdo the clicks, just one is enough (in this case, Wanhao). YMMV
