I'm eager to tackle my first 3D model project, a molecule that requires some refinement. I'd appreciate expert guidance to improve my build. ## My Build Details I'm working with a Makerfarm i3v 8" Prusa printer, PLA filament from Gizmodorks, Slic3r v1.29 software, and rectilinear detachable support with three interface layers at 2.5 mm spacing. ## Project Background Initially, I printed the model with support enabled, but it consistently failed. Then, I tried adding custom support similar to a design found on Thingiverse (55820), which also led to failure. After diagnosing the issue as supports not adhering well to the bed, I created a manual raft in the STL file. With the specified support parameters, the prints were successful, although one hydrogen atom detached from the support during printing. ## What Works Well The build completed without major disaster, and the supports came off easily. ## Room for Improvement I was fortunate that only one part of the model fell off, allowing the build to finish. However, I'm not satisfied with the amount of support material needed and the numerous aesthetic defects in the print.
