Stage Microphone Stand Nut
thingiverse
I crafted a replacement for the broken "nut" on my stage mic stand to get it working again quickly. Designed using Open SCAD, I attached the scad file so you can replicate this solution easily. Printed from PET because it has excellent strength properties that made all the difference. Infill percentage is set at around 40% and layer height is at 0.2 mm for a smooth finish. To make this fix, simply print out four identical parts, reuse the metal bits, and swap in the original bakelite components. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 40% Notes: Printed from PET, a great choice for this application due to its strength and durability. Carbon fiber could also be used as an alternative material, but I don't have any on hand at the moment.
