Stage-inspired LED Spotlight: The Desk Lamp
thingiverse
I'm absolutely thrilled with this Depronized model, especially since I work with the real thing almost daily as a lighting designer. I wanted to use it as a desk lamp, but it had to be mounted on the wall. So, I made some modifications. First off, I scaled it up to 300% of its original size, allowing me to fit a full-size 120V socket and LED bulb inside. I also slightly extended the short barrel to fit my printer's maximum size. Next, I created a barrel extension for two reasons. Firstly, it would let me tighten the beam further, while also giving me a convenient spot to insert a lighting gel. Finally, I modified the light's mounting system a bit. Given that this was going to be wall-mounted, I needed it to pivot, but I didn't have any massive bolts that would work here. So instead, I created notched pins that held the yoke and light base together, giving me several fixed points of adjustment while also holding the light in place. Because both the yoke and base have the notched pattern cut into them, you just need to aim the light at the angle you want, line up the holes, and insert the pin. The pin will then hold it firmly in place. Lastly, I modified the fork slightly by adding three screw holes for mounting to the wall.
