Stage 1 upgrade list for the ANET A8
thingiverse
So this is a little list I put together for the Anet A8. **Please note that these mods are used to be used in conjunction with the factory components, just look at your printer in factory form and whatever is on the list that looks different is an upgrade** I have also included some of the STLs that I have used with this all in one place. Component List for Minor Anet A8 Upgrades Descriptions list and links: X-Motor = Factory Item Y-Motor = Factory Item Z-Motor1 = Factory Item Z-Motor2 = Factory Item You could possibly upgrade these with permanent lead screws attached, but that will add quite a bit of cost. MainBoard = Factory Item You could possibly upgrade this with a number of other boards like the RAMPS board. MainBoard Fan = 80mm PC Case Fan This upgrade allows for cooling on the factory motor drivers for extended life. Bed Mosfet = Simpzia Mosfet This upgrade allows for a more robust external mosfet for the regulated temp of the heatbed. I would recommend that you buy some thermal paste and remove the heatsink from the Simpzia mosfet and apply then reinstall. I would also recommend 14-12ga silicone wires when doing this mod. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XY5HBFX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hotend Mosfet = Simpzia Mosfet This upgrade allows for a more robust external mosfet for the regulated temp of the Hot End. I would recommend that you buy some thermal paste and remove the heatsink from the Simpzia mosfet and apply then reinstall. Mosfet Fan 2 = 40mm PC Case Fan This upgrade allows for a little extra cooling on the external mosfet. Z limit switch = Factory Item X limit switch = Factory Item Y limit switch = Factory Item You could possibly upgrade these with optical end stops, but these factory ones work fine. Part Cooling Fan = Factory Item Hotend Fan = Factory Item Hotend and Extruder Assembly = Factory Item. You can upgrade this with a number of upgrades I recommend the E3D V6 Bowden. HotBed = Factory Item I would recommend placing a silicone thermal pad and a sheet of glass on the heat bed for better prints. Power Switch = Standard PC fused and lighted This upgrade allows you to actually turn off the printer with a switch instead of unplugging it every time. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LYMNQ2L/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 PSU = Factory Item I would recommend upgrading this to a ATX PC Power Supply. PSU Fan = 80mm PC Case Fan This mod helps cool the power supply to extend the life. DC Meter = LCD Multi-Meter Bayite This mod allows you to monitor everything with the 12v power supply and usage. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013PKYAV6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 AC Meter = LCD Multi-Meter Uctronics This mod allows you to monitor everything with the supply main voltage and usage. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K9JD3EQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
