I received a unique birthday card that featured a laser-cut stag design, which caught my eye and sparked my interest in creating printable versions of it. I snapped a photo and got to work on designing several custom templates. One template features separate antlers with precision-crafted dovetail joints for seamless assembly. This design is ideal for smaller printers or those looking to create oversized prints. The second template combines the stag's body and antlers into a single, cohesive unit that can be printed at any size to fit your printer's capabilities. For the multi-piece version, I ensured a snug fit by providing 0.25 mm clearance between the dovetails. The angled sides of both the dovetails and holes add an extra layer of precision, making assembly a breeze - or so I expect after testing them out. If you're unsure about the fit, a little glue might be necessary. In contrast, the single-piece template requires no support at all, while the 3-part design necessitates some added structural assistance under the dovetail cutouts to prevent any issues during printing.
