This artifact was unearthed archaeologically from the "House for Families" at George Washington's historic estate, Mount Vernon. It has been cataloged within the Digital Archaeological Archive of Comparative Slavery as DAACS 172261. The object was meticulously scanned in three dimensions using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner to enhance the digital content of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities Encyclopedia Virginia regarding slavery in Virginia. This scanning initiative is generously supported by funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities, with gratitude extended to the Mount Vernon Ladies Association for their courtesy and cooperation.
