Stacking Pi Case
thingiverse
I created an alternative version of Adafruit's Pi case that fits tightly together and has both a full-length and shorter top for use with Ciseco's slice of pi board. This design was drafted from scratch in DraftSight rather than using the original Adafruit file, which I only found on Thingiverse after completing the basic layout. The logos in the photos are sourced from thenounproject.com, except for the Raspberry Pi Logo. The case is designed for cutting from 3mm material, and I particularly like it in wood. I prototyped it at Nottingham Hackspace (nottinghack.org.uk). Build photos are available here. The attached zip file includes icons flipped for etching in acrylic. I've also provided three versions of the case design: one for cutting in 3mm acrylic, another reversed for cutting in plywood (to ensure etches are on the outside with wood and inside on acrylic), and a final one for cutting two Pi cases from a single A4 sheet. Complete assembly instructions can be found at Adafruit's wiki (wiki.ladyada.net/products/pi-box). Some additional tips include clipping the USB side end plate first, making sure the top side of the end plate is fully over the hooks before fixing the bottom hooks, and handling acrylic with care due to its brittleness. Enjoy!
