Stacking box

Think outside the box, and you'll find that having too many boxes can be a real hassle. To keep your belongings organized, print some stacking boxes of your own to store screws, nuts, bolts, toys, or other miscellaneous items. Just as we designed our Candy Bowl to test 3D-prints with large-bore nozzles, this box was created specifically for that purpose. The result is a semi-transparent box 3D-printed at 0.8mm layerheight using a 1.0 mm nozzle. Even though it's possible to print this box faster, we kept the speed down to achieve a high-gloss shiny surface and overall better quality print. This is clearly shown in the two attached pictures, with the lower part printed at a higher speed than the top part. Not only will the result be more transparent, but the print quality will also be improved since the plastic can be extruded and cooled down at a slower rate, which is necessary when using a larger nozzle. The box's outer dimensions are 120x120x80mm. Printing it at around 20-30 mm/s took less than two hours. We kept the geometry simple to make printing easy. To eliminate layer-change zipper-lines, we used vase-mode in our print settings. We also 3D-printed the candy bowl using taulman 3D t-glase (PETT) filament to achieve optimal transparency and strength. —– By Creative Tools - http://Creative-Tools.com - http://google.com/+CreativetoolsSe - http://twitter.com/CreativeTools - http://facebook.com/creativetools - http://youtube.com/creativetools
