Stackable screw cap containers
thingiverse
A 2-inch screw cap container is designed to stack seamlessly. To achieve this, a small modification is required. Insert an 8mm x 3mm disc magnet into the base and another in the cap. To ensure a smooth stacking process, pause the print at 4.2mm and insert the magnets accordingly. For detailed instructions on how to do this, refer to the video at https://youtu.be/oF1SdIR-Kow?t=460. To identify the poles of the magnets, mark them using a Sharpie. Start by colouring the top face of the top magnet in your stack, then remove it and colour the next one, repeating this process until all the magnets are marked. This will help you install them correctly. When assembling the containers, place the lids with the coloured faces up and the base with the coloured faces down. This configuration allows for effortless stacking. There are two versions of this design available. Version 1 has a left-handed thread on the cap, which is an error. To avoid inconvenience, print version 2 instead. The purple container was printed using 3D filaprint satin purple PLA, while the clearish one was made from PET transparent black. It's worth noting that this design may not be suitable for items made of ferrous metals due to their magnetic properties.
