Stackable (Magnetic) Storage System for 28mm Miniatures

This is a versatile storage system designed specifically for 28mm miniatures. I utilize clear-plastic scrapbook boxes with miniature holder tiles that have a rim engineered to keep the miniature securely in place mechanically, and can be optionally equipped with a 6x2mm magnet to magnetically hold the miniature firmly in addition (this requires attaching a washer or similar to the base of the miniature, I employ 1 inch fender washers glued to the base of all my miniatures for this purpose). The mechanical rim combined with a magnet in the tile results in the miniature being extremely secure within its holder tile (refer to pictures of miniature standing upright, held at a 90° angle, and even held upside down). Support column tiles are used to provide extra rigidity to the roof of the storage box so that they can be stacked without fear of the roof sagging or crushing weapons or such. The tiles can be arranged to conform to the contours of the box, they clip together via a mix of Dragonbite(tm) clips (designed by Fat Dragon Games, it's a free download from http://www.fatdragongames.com/fdgfiles/?page_id=3356) and/or pegs (included here). For the scrapbook boxes I use, I can fit 65 tiles in a box, and I utilize 3 or 4 support columns per box so each box will hold 61-64 miniatures. For the boxes I use, the most convenient fit I found was to use 4 of the 7-miniature holder tiles, 3 or 4 support columns, and a mix of the 1 and 2-miniature holder tiles to round it out. There's really no incorrect way to do it, just rearrange tiles until it fits your box and then clip and/or peg it all together. Everything should print without supports. The tiles have built-in supports (a thin vertical line) for the Dragonbite(tm) clip receptacles that must be removed before attempting to insert a clip. The pegs have a support base modeled in, simply snap the peg off the base to use. Hopefully you'll find this as useful as I do, and I'd love to see any makes, especially if anyone has an even better box than the scrapbook boxes for using this with. Happy gaming!
