Stackable Hard Drive Brackets

thingiverse dtylerb 4021333 Free

Here is yet another style of drive adapter to mount 2.5" hard drives or solid state drives in to 3.5" drive bays (I've already made three other designs).

The reason I made this one is because I saw people making the stackable covid visors, and thought it'd be cool to have hard drive brackets that could be stacked for "mass production" with minimal support material needed.

With this design, you can print one bracket of any style with no supports. If you choose to stack them and print multiples, only the cutout for the SATA ports on the one piece adapters will need to be supported. (I actually haven't tested stacking them, but I don't see why it wouldn't work)

This design also takes less material and time than my other designs. I've included long and short adapters (long ones are sometimes necessary because some PC cases are designed in a way that you need the two furthest screws) and I've included both one piece and two piece designs. Personally I hate the two piece brackets, but I included them because they DO take less material and time to print. I just prefer the one piece brackets because you can just grab one and use it without spending as much time figuring out the correct orientation, and you never have to worry about losing half your bracket.

Only the long 1 piece bracket is pictured. I will post pictures of the others later.

**ALL my hard drive brackets are designed to self-tap #6-32 UNC screws (the coarser screws that are used to affix 3.5" hard drives, not the finer thread M3)**

Here are approximate printing times and material for each type (0.3 layer height) :

Short (2 piece) : 10g, 3.20m, 30 minutes
Long (2 piece) : 14g, 4.54m, 41 minutes
Short (1 piece) : 16g, 5.35m, 47 minutes
Long (1 piece) : 19g, 6.22m, 54 minutes

Here are my other HDD/SSD bracket designs if you are interested:
