Stackable Funnel Tray NO SUPPORTS REQ'D
thingiverse
I'm absolutely fascinated by countspatula's tray design where parts can be easily poured back into a baggie or storage container after use. I've personally printed several of these trays and they're now an essential tool in my workshop, getting daily use. One thing that always bothered me about the original design was how bits would spill out of the funnel when the tray was moved around. To address this issue, I came up with a new version featuring a spout that keeps parts contained within the tray while also allowing it to be stacked on top of others. This updated design is also optimized specifically for 0.4 mm print nozzles. The walls are carefully crafted as an integer multiple of 0.4 mm, ensuring they print flawlessly with just two shells. This clever optimization has shaved off a significant amount of printing time - almost cutting it in half! The base of this design is also tailored to be printed at a layer height of 0.28 mm instead of the standard 0.3 mm. By using an integer multiple of 0.04 mm for the z-axis layer height, I've discovered that the resulting layers are significantly cleaner and exhibit better adhesion between them.
