I decided to create my own design after trying a few others, but each had something I didn't like. They're quite simple and relatively small at 100mm/~4". Since I usually only need to sort $30-40 in coins at a time, I don't require a larger or more efficient setup. The trays stack well together without slipping down inside the next tray, unlike some other designs I've tried. I made the walls 2mm thick to keep them very sturdy and robust. The thicker bottoms also allowed me to add more holes per tray without compromising their strength. I printed two sets of the trays. One at a .16mm layer height and one at .3mm. Both turned out great, but there's no real benefit to using higher resolution on this project. Print time is about 2 hours for each tray at .3mm and 45mm/sec. The dimes tray takes a bit longer due to its lack of holes and therefore more material to print. At .16mm layer height, the whole set took a little over 18 hours. When using the trays, it's best not to add too many coins all at once. Instead, gently shake or rock the stack back and forth while dropping the coins in 10-15 at a time. You'll need to empty the quarters tray frequently as they will eventually fill the bottom of the tray and block all of the holes. The pennies tray fills quickly due to its high ratio of pennies to other coins that end up in my coin bank, and likely most anyone else's.
