Stabilizer Leg Challenge

Stabilizer Leg Challenge

In my Stabilizer Leg Challenge submission, I devised a solution utilizing the Stinger arm (13027) with modifications and removed smaller parts. The geometry offers a 6.4:1 mechanical advantage, considering forces up to 7700 lbs with a 1200 lbs damper spring. There are two primary positions - Deployed at 45 degrees and Stowed at 90 degrees, along with three finer positions for the anchor point's spring. Removable Hitch Pin and cotter pin are used in both positions. To counterbalance the stinger arm assembly's weight, I added two torsion springs with a capacity of 175 in-lbs each, calculating a torque at the pivot of approximately 350 in-lbs. A doubler round tube was incorporated for reinforcement at the main pivot due to high forces. I believe this entry has great ideas, and I wish everyone luck in the challenge; thanks!
